SHAW INDUSTRIES was founded in 1946 by Julius Clarence Shaw as a Star Dye Company, making comforters and rugs. The history of a large carpet company began with the acquisition of a holding company called the Philadelphia Carpet Company, founded in 1846. The holding company brought the star-finishing company onto the scene and was also the first step in the carpet business.
Since then, the shell carpet with its range of carpets has never looked back. Currently under the leadership of Vance Bell, the company's CEO and President Randy Merritt have annual sales of five billion and more than 20,000 employees. It is the largest carpet manufacturer in the world.
WHY SHOW CARPETS?
Shaw carpets are a carpet brand with a history that goes back a very long time. The Shaw industry has brought many internationally recognized carpet industries, such as Queen's Carpets, the Dixie Group and many others under its wing. If you remember buying carpets, here are some reasons why you should consider shaw carpets.
Provides all four basic types of carpets.
There are basically four types of fiber-based carpets.
Nylon is the most durable, flexible and commonly used fiber in carpets. Nylon carpets are not hard-wearing, but Shaw carpets offer stain-resistant and eco-friendly nylon carpets. Shaw carpets offer cradle-to-cradle certification for carpets, meaning that they provide safe, water-efficient and environmentally friendly carpets. Polyester rugs are stainless and are characterized by exceptional softness and color. However, they are not as strong and durable as the nylon and shaw rugs. They are so advanced that they provide very strong and durable polyester rugs. Shaw was the first company to introduce the BCF PTT (Corterra) rug in the US in 2001, which is a type of PTT fiber.
