Küche Linoleum / Eiche, Bora
Linoleum is the term previously referring to natural linseed, pine resin and other organic materials. In modern times, it includes both natural and modern substitutes. Linoleum hardwood floors are known for their durability, water resistance and affordability. They are installed by attaching them with a strong adhesive over a floor or subfloor.
PREPARING THE SOIL
The linoleum should be stored in the room where it is to be installed for 24 hours, as it tends to shrink and expand when temperature changes, which can cause installation problems. The linoleum reaches a dormant size in the room.
All furniture, appliances and doors must be removed to avoid obstacles. It should be removed baseboards that run along the bottom edge. Any remaining base nails should also be removed. The existing soil should also be repaired so that no burrs and bumps remain, which could deform the linoleum. A plywood underlay can be used if the floor or subfloor can not support the linoleum.
The amount of linoleum to be used must be determined and the measurements must be accurate. The cut lines should be marked on the linoleum. The parts should be one or two inches wider than necessary. After determining the exact dimensions of the floor to be covered, the linoleum is cut along the marked lines with a sharp utility knife or hooked linoleum knife. The linoleum is now carefully laid and care should be taken that it does not wrinkle. The margins should be shortened in case of extra inches.
The glue is applied by peeling off half the bottom and spreading it with a trowel on the bottom of the linoleum. Some adhesives should be applied along the edges and some adhesives should be applied along the entire underside. Allow the adhesives to act briefly, then roll them down and gently push them on the floor.
Linoleum is attached with a roller to remove air bubbles and fix it firmly to the floor or subfloor. The roller is worked from the middle to the edges. Finally, apply a linoleum sealer with a brush or roller in a uniform layer. This gives the linoleum a shiny shine and extends the life of the linoleum wooden floor.
