STEPS INVOLVED

Unwind the underpayment

At one end of the pad is a plastic strip that runs along the wall covered by the baseboard. At the other end is an adhesive tape. The plastic end lies with each roll on the tape end. An important note here is that the pad should be in the direction in which the floor covering runs

Execute the underpayment

The first sheet of base should be placed next to the wall that is the longest in the room. The plastic strip should run 4 inches up the wall.

Cover the floor

The second sheet should rest exactly on the starting sheet. The plastic edge should overlap that of the first sheet. Do this until the entire room floor is covered. Between the pad and the walls should remain only a small gap.

Get rid of excessive underpayment

In this step of laying the laminate flooring substrate, any backing that is around corners and openings is removed with a razor. This is important to keep everything clean and simple.

Cut the boards

The boards usually have a tongue and groove side. The smaller part sticking out of the board is the tongue. When installing the boards in the corner, cut off the short and long sides.

Insert the spacers

Lay a transition strip around the door opening when installing the boards. Insert the spacers and then measure the difference between the length of the panel in front of the door and the panel against the wall. This will help you to know how much you should cut the board on the door front.

Keep the face protected

It is not a complicated thing to cut the board, but it is important that you make sure the face of the board is in order. That depends on the way the blades move and also on the saw used. For example, if you have a jigsaw, the blades will be raised and your face will have to be lowered. The opposite is also the case. Just make sure the face is pointing in the opposite direction of the blades.
